This article is about how to save a template with only a Workflow, so that later you can simply add on the Workflow to a patients existing treatment sheet. This idea is useful for making Workflows for things such as Discharge Tasks, or Euthanasia Tasks, or Surgery Tasks, that you can add on to a patients existing treatment sheet without having any of their treatments changed.
First, put a test patient, or fake patient onto your Smart Flow whiteboard so that you are not using any live patients. Bring up any template you wish, we recommend the Default template, but it doesn't really matter. Then, please delete all items from the Treatment Sheet so that only the headers remain.
Edit the Workflow to be exactly how you want it: add-in, change, or delete, whatever tasks you need to, to create the proper Workflow (please read THIS for more details on how to edit Workflow).
Once it is how you like it, click on the Save As Template button on the right hand side. When naming the template, we recommend you add the word 'Workflow' in there so that staff know that the template is for the Workflow only:
As you can see in this example, we have some templates that are named Tx Sheet vs Workflow to identify which ones are full sheet templates, or just Workflow Templates.
To then add the Workflow to an active patient, instead of clicking Change Template, you can simply select Add Workflow:
Select the Workflow you would like to add to the patients Treatment Sheet:
Then make sure you click Add on the next screen that pops up, NOT Replace:
If you select Replace it will replace the patients whole Workflow with this new one.
Once you have done this, you will see the new Workflow will be tagged onto the bottom of the existing Workflow!
