The Fluid Bolus feature gives you the precise calculation of the volume and rate to be infused. To calculate the bolus rate you should follow these steps:
1. Select any Fluid on the flowsheet (if you are using the iPad remember to switch to Editing mode):
2. Once the parameter is opened, choose the Press to add bolus button:

3. Please enter Volume/kg and Over Period (how long you would like the bolus to take place) in the corresponding fields and then Smart Flow will automatically calculate your Total Volume as well as the Bolus Rate:
4. Once all values have been entered, press Done. A separate Bolus line will then appear below the original fluid line with the total volume already entered onto the flowsheet:
That means that you have finished your bolus rate calculation successfully!
