Great news for SmartFlow users! The iPad App has a brand new navigation bar that makes getting around easier than ever. It’s designed to save you time and help you find what you need faster, no matter where you are in the app. Now you can get to any patient sheet with just one tap.

Key improvements include instantly visible navigation buttons, one-click creation of Anesthetic sheets and Dental charts, a dedicated Edit menu for faster template and treatment management, and a clearer in-app connection status—ensuring you’re always aware and in control of your workflow.

Consistent, Intuitive Interface

  • Standardized Icons: All primary patient workflows, including anesthesia, dental, and forms, have a consistent look and feel with standardized icons on the navigation bar. This makes it easy for any staff member to quickly navigate the app without extra training.

  • Reduced Learning Curve: New staff and floaters will quickly adapt, as the navigation logic remains predictable throughout the app.


Enhanced Navigation—Access Anywhere

  • Universal Navigation Buttons: Move between all core sheets from any screen. No need to backtrack or dig through menus. Every workflow is now just a tap away, meaning less time navigating and more time with patients.

  • Visual Sheet Status with Icon Logic:

    • Icon Color Feedback: The Dental and Anesthetic icons are dark gray with a plus sign (+) when there isn't an active sheet, indicating you can start a new one. The Flowsheets and Forms icons, on the other hand, are blue when you're not on those sheets. When you open an active sheet, its icon turns black, giving you a clear visual signal of your location.

    • Interactive Behavior:

      • Tapping an icon with a plus sign creates a new sheet for that workflow.



      • Tapping a blue icon with no plus sign takes you directly to the patient’s active sheet.




  • One-Click Sheet Creation: Instantly generate new Anesthetic sheets and Dental charts wherever you are, speeding up patient setup and minimizing workflow interruptions. If a sheet already exists for the patient, simply tap the icon to access it.

Streamlined Editing with the New Edit Menu

  • Faster, Smarter Editing: The new Edit menu is always available where you need it, making it easy to add templates, treatments, or workflows with minimal taps.
