Your EMR Integration is how Smart Flow connects with your electronic medical record (EMR) system, for example; ezyVet, eVet Practice, RxWorks to name just a few; please see HERE for a list of our current EMR integrations with Smart Flow.

Below is a screenshot of what you will see on the web when you have logged into your Smart Flow account and chosen, "Settings" >  "EMR".

So what do all these options mean?

1. Connected EMR; this lets you know whether Smart Flow is actually integrated and connected with your EMR. Below is a snapshot of how this will look if you are connected.

If you are not connected to an EMR, this will simply state "Not Connected". Your EMR integration should be set up and tested during the onboarding process.

2. API Key; This is an application programming interface key- it is a unique code provided by Smart Flow that can integrate the app with your EMR system. For further information about your API Key- and how to ensure this is integrated, please click HERE

3. Connection State; This will let you know if the connection between Smart Flow and your EMR is working. It should say 'Not Connected' if you do not have an EMR. If it is connected adequately- it will say 'Accepting Patients, Accepting Inventory'. If it does say something like 'Sync Patient Info, Accepting Inventory'- this means that your next setting 'Limit Patient Creation to EMR' may be toggled to OFF.

4. Limit Patient Creation to EMR; When toggled to 'ON'- your patients will need to be created in your EMR- once you transfer that patient to Smart Flow within their department- you will be able to see them in your whiteboard. If this is toggled to 'OFF'; patients can be created explicitly from the Smart Flow web interface or iPads. This is useful if you use our Admission Form to create patients and your EMR supports this.

5. Create New Monitoring From Flowsheets; This feature if the toggle is turned "On" will allow you to create new monitoring parameters right from the flowsheet. Should this feature be turned to "Off" you will require manager permissions to add these from the parameter section.

6. Create New Activities from Flowsheets; This feature if the toggle is turned "On" will allow you to create new activities like feeding or walking, right from the flowsheet. Should this feature be turned to "Off" you will require manager permissions to add these from the parameter section.

7. Create New Fluids From Flowsheets; This feature if the toggle is turned "On" will allow you to create new fluid parameters right from the flowsheet. Should this feature be turned to "Off" you will require manager permissions to add these from the parameter section.

8. Create New Medications From Flowsheets; This feature if the toggle is turned "On" will allow you to create new medications right from the flowsheet. Should this feature be turned to "Off" you will require manager permissions to add these from the parameter section.

9. Create New Procedures From Flowsheets; This feature if the toggle is turned "On" will allow you to create new procedures right from the flowsheet. Should this feature be turned to "Off" you will require manager permissions to add these from the parameter section.

10. Create New Tasks From Flowsheets; This feature if the toggle is turned "On" will allow you to create new tasks right from the flowsheet. Should this feature be turned to "Off" you will require manager permissions to add these from the parameter section.

11. Send Billing & Medical Records to EMR; If this toggle is set to "On" parameters that are marked as complete on the flowsheet, mapped items will be sent to your EMR

12. Send Anesthetic Billing & Medical Records to EMR; If this toggle is set to "On" parameters that are marked as complete on the anesthetic sheet, mapped items will be sent to your EMR
