Having iPads in the hospital can make management seem a little weary. Not everyone would like to have their staff having access to the internet, or games etc that could be already loaded on the iPad.
If you would like to "lock" the iPad so that staff are only able to use the Smart Flow application please follow these steps.
*If you do "lock" the iPad please ensure that you have at least one person on staff/in the building at all times who knows the password, so that if there is an upgrade or a problem Smart Flow will be able to properly assist in fixing this.*
-Start by going to Settings
-Tap on General
-Tap on Restrictions
By selecting what users are able to do on the iPad such as deleting applications, using the internet or the camera you will minimize what users are able to do. Please note that by only doing this one step you will not restrict staff members to only being able to use the Smart Flow application.
If you would like to limit the iPads to only out application please follow these steps:
-Go to Settings
-Tap on General
-Tap on Accessibility
-Scroll down to Guided access and tap on that
-Slide the button to start the process (it should be green)
-Next set your passcode (please ensure it is in the clinic at all times so that if there is an update or smart flow support requires staff to shut down the application they are able to do so)
-Next open up the Smart Flow Application
-Once the application is up and running quickly tap on the home button three times
-You will then be able to disable the home button so users are not able to leave the application
If we require your staff to shut down the application or download a update, you will simply press the home button three times quickly and enter in the passcode.
Here is a link for a video that shows you step by step as well.
*please note that we are not recommending this for all clinics-this has been requested by a user*
